Juan Villafane hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina and has been a leading proponent in the revival of vintage jazz dances in South America. Juan brings to The Killer Dillers a wealth of talent, known internationally for his stylish Lindy Hop, Charleston, Vintage Jazz, softshoe Tap, Cane and Acrobatics. His background in gymnastics and martial arts strongly influence his dancing, giving him a unique perspective on body movement and awareness, and a distinct – and often spectacular – personal style. Known for his high-flying aerials and eye-catching slides, Juan is a consummate performer and a creative dancer.

Juan holds first place titles at the International Lindy Hop Championships, National Jitterbug Championships, Canadian Swing Championships and other competitions internationally. He  has performed in Sweden, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Czech Republic, UK, Canada, USA and Argentina. With his dance partner Sharon Davis, he has performed with renowned Swedish swing dance company The Harlem Hot Shots, and has taught Lindy Hop across the globe.

Juan Villafane and Sharon Davis formed their dance partnership in 2006. Together they represent a diverse social and performance dance talent, including not only Lindy Hop, but also Charleston, Cakewalk, Blackbottom, Vintage Jazz, Breakaway, Balboa, Big Apple, Blues, Collegiate Shag, Burlesque and various other performance artforms of the jazz era. Both extremely popular on the social dance floor, they are known for their warm personalities, approachability, and endless passion for vintage jazz dance and music. With strong backgrounds in performance, they are charismatic and entertaining on stage. Their classes focus on developing dynamic connection, natural movement, flow and body awareness as a pathway to individual style, improvisation and musicality.

Stockholm Jazz Jam, July 2009: Juan wins 1st place in the Jazz Battle!

Frankie 95 Festival, New York City, May 2009: Sharon & Juan compete in the Hellzapoppin’ Finals, and Sharon is a finalist in the World’s Largest Jack & Jill!

Camp Jitterbug May 2009: Sharon and Juan take 3rd place in the Lindy Hop Couples competition, and are both finalists in the Charleston Battle.

International Lindy Hop Championships August 2008: Sharon and Juan take 1st place in the Strictly Lindy Open Division, Sharon takes 3rd in Cabaret and Juan takes 2nd in Cabaret!

Camp Hollywood 2008: Juan takes 1st place Lead in Advanced Jack & Jill, Sharon takes 1st place Follow in Advanced Jack & Jill, Sharon and Juan win 4th place in the Pro Lindy division, and Juan wins 1st place in Showcase Division with Kevin St Laurent.

Grenoble Lindy Hop Championships June 2008: Sharon and Juan win 1st place in Showcase division, 1st place in Fast division, 2nd place in Improv division, Sharon 3rd in Jack & Jill, and Sharon 1st place in the Charleston competition.

Camp Jitterbug May 2008: Sharon and Juan finalists in Lindy Hop Couples division, Juan a Jack & Jill finalist, and Sharon wins 1st place in the Charleston Battle.

Canadian Swing Championships May 2008: Sharon and Juan take out 1st and 2nd place in the Charleston Battle, 1st and 2nd place in the Advanced Lindy Hop Jack & Jill, and 1st and 3rd place in the Cabaret Showcase Division.
